About Us

The Cyprus Events Technical Support Companies Association (CETA®) was founded in 2020 with the ambition of becoming the connecting link for equipment rental companies for all types of events in Cyprus—concerts, conferences, and generally productions in the fields of culture, entertainment, and social events.

It was established with the aim of promoting, by every appropriate and legal means, the professional interests of its members, as follows:

1. The organization and unification into one body of Event Technical Support Companies in Cyprus.

2. The preparation of relevant legislation and its promotion to the state and parliament for approval.

3. The representation of its members in matters concerning the sector.

4. The promotion and development of the sector in Cyprus.

5. The protection of the professional interests of its members.

6. The development and cultivation of a spirit of solidarity and cooperation among its members.

7. The regulation of relationships and the resolution of disputes between members through negotiations, agreements, or any other legal means.

8. Assisting members in establishing contacts with various Organizations and/or relevant government departments to promote its goals.

9. Carrying out any action with any Government authority, company, or individual deemed necessary or helpful under the circumstances to fulfill the Association’s goals.

10. Assuming an advisory role to other services, with the aim of proper and professional event coverage, ensuring that regulations and legislation governing the sector are always followed.

11. Improving working conditions and the practice of the profession. More specifically, collective bargaining with institutions for better insurance-related services, as well as improved working conditions in various workplaces (e.g. hotels, banquet halls, amphitheaters, etc.).

12. Assisting members in dealing with problems arising from the practice of the profession.

13. Establishing common “best practices” and regulations for the provision of services and equipment, including safety and health plans, electromechanical studies, etc., where required.

14. Training personnel, ensuring equipment and staff safety, and addressing other issues concerning the sector.

15. Pursuing the drafting and implementation of a Code of Professional Ethics.

16. Negotiating on behalf of companies with the relevant employee bodies on matters of agreements, contracts, working conditions, working hours, holidays, etc.

The second pillar of its activity concerns the promotion of safety, certification, and specification regulations in the undertaking of projects, as well as the establishment of regulations to support fair competition.

CETA also aims to promote safety and health regulations, certification, and standards through the creation of a Certification Regulation Standard for Event Technical Support Companies. This Standard will be based on existing Health and Safety legislation related to the undertaking of projects.
